Lake Louise, Founder and CEO (Chief Eco-Beauty Officer) launched Skin, Mind, Body Essentials (SMB Essentials) with the intention of developing products that were healthy for the body - inside and out. In 2002, she introduced Lotus Moon. It has been a labor of love ever since. In 2006 DetoxRx was born, a nutritional supplement line for internal detoxification and cleansing. Plans are in the works to launch Plain Jane Beauty in Summer 2010, a natural cosmetic line.

After receiving her masters degree from Stanford University in 1995, Lake needed a change of scenery, with her two young children in tow, she headed to Costa Rica where she was offered a professorship at the University of Costa Rica teaching sustainability and ecoresponsibility in the Ecological Tourism Department.

In 1998, Lake returned to her birthplace, San Francisco. For the next few years, Lake taught at local private schools in the Bay Area. No longer feeling the fire she once had for classroom teaching Lake decided it was time to follow her vision and let her entrepreneurial spirit be her guide and combined her research skills with her passion for wellness, natural healing and beauty.

The mission: to create a new generation of skincare that would truly transform the tone and texture of your skin, one you could actually see and feel, in a safe and gentle way. With this mission in mind, she set out to use her vast knowledge from years of personal practice, study and experimenting with aromatherapy and Ayurveda. The result: Lotus Moon.

An advanced, eco-friendly skincare line combining the power of aromatherapy and principles of Ayurveda with high levels of anti-aging active ingredients, including potent anti-oxidants, concentrated peptides, amino acids, fragrant and therapeutic essential oils to renew the skin at the cellular level; cleanse and exfoliate as well as relax and rejuvenate skin, mind and body.

While beauty is always in the eye of the beholder, we also believe it is contained in the ingredients provided by Mother Nature.
